The people behind the project

Chris Loker has a Bachelor of Business Science from UCT as well as a number of financial qualifications. He has executive experience in internet banking, retail treasury, cards, online broking, call centres and investment products, as well as in other entrepreneurial ventures, such as a partnership in Polari-Tea. He practises yoga regularly, as well as road-running and open water swimming. In 1990 he lead a South African delegation to an international student conference in Japan on sustainable development and feels like it's time to get off the fence.
Advisor Mike Freedman is a founding partner of Freedthinkers, a research & strategy house with clients in the private & public sectors.  A graduate of Oxford University, he began his career as an advertising copywriter, then creative director, winning many international awards, including world’s best copywriting.  After breaking his neck in the Namib Desert, Mike left the ad world, wrote a book on positive scenarios for South Africa & helped to open the first school for street-children.  His growing awareness of social & environmental concerns has led him to create CSI strategies for corporates and create Indalo Yethu, South Africa’s environmental agency, of which he is a trustee.  Mike also writes & speaks on how business can & does do well by doing good.  In his spare time he writes, is an avid reader & can be found with wife & son at the back row of the movies with a large box of popcorn.  
As a writer and research consultant, Byron Loker has an MA from UCT and contributes to, among others, a leading information resource on investment initiatives in Africa and TheInertia.com, "the planet's largest network of thinking surfers". He has a short story collection prescribed in English Literature in high school, a place alongside some of South Africa's best writers in the anthology Touch: Stories of Contact, and a portfolio of feature articles in various business publications. He also has a hand in Groundswell Surfboards, a project to build hand-made, hollow wooden surfboards with top environmental credentials.

Justin Wolff is a Chartered Accountant with an extensive background in financial services including accounting consultancy. An accomplished writer (his columns and articles have appeared in numerous publications) he works with his clients to provide clear and compelling corporate communications with a focus on sustainability and integrated reporting. He has broad interests, both physical and musical, but enjoys spending as much of his free time with his family as possible.

digitalpro is a boutique web development, design and networking company. They service some of South Africa’s most recognisable brands. The business was formed in 2003 under the leadership of Barry Botha and Kobus Theron as a technology company that specialises in converged Internet technologies. Since then, digitalpro has designed and developed many successful products and engineered effective solutions for well-known companies in the property, hospitality, service, tourism and retail sectors.
